Your Journey to
Rwanda
Everything you need to book your flight, prepare for departure, and arrive confident.
what happens next
Our Travel Care Team will send you a detailed welcome packet with step-by-step instructions. This page outlines the process so you know what to expect and can start planning now.
You’re responsible for purchasing your own airfare to Kigali International Airport (KGL). The Travel Care Team will provide preferred airlines, recommended flight routes, and a specific travel window designed to coordinate your arrival with other participants. This ensures our Welcome Committee can greet you properly and transportation is ready. Book within the recommended window—it makes your arrival smoother.
ACTION REQUIRED! Travel Planning Must be Finalized & Shared to Secure your Participation
submit your flight information!
Once you’ve booked, submit your flight details immediately. We need your departure city, airline, flight numbers, arrival date, and arrival time. This allows our in-country Welcome Committee to meet you at Kigali International Airport and arrange transport to your apartment. Without this information, we can’t coordinate your arrival support.
⚠️ LIMITED AVAILABILITY
Each arrival date has a maximum capacity. Dates are filling quickly. Start your travel planning now to secure your preferred arrival date.
prepare for departure
Before you leave, handle three areas: documents, packing, and personal arrangements.
- Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel date.
- Bring any required medical documentation and copies of important paperwork.
- Pack climate-appropriate clothing—Rwanda is temperate year-round but Kigali sits at high elevation.
- Handle US affairs: mail forwarding, storage, emergency contacts for family.
Your welcome packet includes detailed checklists for all of this.
